====== Statistics ======
Statistics computes the mean and standard deviation of each band of the image, for the whole image or inside a "window", and shows the results, with the minimum and maximum, in a separate window. The image is passed on unchanged to any module connected after it.

===== Writing a calibration file =====
Statistics also creates the calibration files that ReadImage and ReadStack use:
  * Read the images with [[basic_level:readstack_multispectral_image|ReadStack]], with its "calibration" flag **unchecked**, and connect it to Statistics.
  * Enter a window inside the white calibration target, in ReadStack or in Statistics.
  * Check **calibration** in Statistics. Check **verbose** to be told where the file is written.

The file is written in the folder that holds the images, and overwrites any calibration file already there. Calibration works only with single-band images. For the full steps, see [[advanced_level:calibration:generate_cal_file|Generate Cal File]].
