====== Pseudocolor ====== Pseudocolor combines two images of the same page into one color image: one taken under ultraviolet (UV) light, and one under visible (red) light. Connect them to **ultraviolet_link** and **visible_link**. Both must be single-band images of the same size. Each image is first normalized over a "neighborhood", as in [[intermediate_level:normalize|Normalize]]: values are stretched over 3 standard deviations around the local mean. One number gives a square region. If the **sigmoid** flag is checked, values outside the stretch range are squeezed instead of clipped (the default). ===== Color schemes ===== ^ color ^ Red ^ Green ^ Blue ^ | redcyan (default) | visible | UV | UV | | blueyellow | UV | UV | visible | | blueorange | UV | average of UV and visible | visible | ===== Output ===== The output is a color image. Its data type is unsigned integer (the default), signed integer or floating point, with 8 or 16 bits for integers, or 32 or 64 bits for floating point. To turn a pseudocolor image into a black-and-white image that suppresses the overtext, see [[advanced_level:sharpie|Sharpie]].
